Swine Flu...

Big deal? Eh, not as big as they are making it out to be. After all, it is extremely similar to the regular flu we deal with every year, right? Yesterday they announced two new cases in Oklahoma... in MY town! I'm not gonna lie, it had me a tiny bit freaked out. The first thing I thought of was Gabriel. Since he was a baby he has seemed to catch anything and everything that was going around. He once caught pinkeye instantly from getting on a ride at the fair. Both of his eyes starting closing up within minutes. It was crazy. When word first came out about the Swine Flu I told him not to eat any pig at all. If they served it at school he was to tell them he needed a sandwich instead (and not ham). I didn't want him to take any chances. It was so funny to see his reaction. The look he gets on his face is like, are you really serious Mom? I know he thinks I am insane sometimes. Of course I knew that eating pig had nothing to do with it. So, needless to say, I sure hope both of these cases have been quarantined and they don't become a threat to even more people.

Hahaha! I'm the same way with my kids and germs. In fact, Amanda has a mild fever and cold right now and teased me that she has the swine flu, lol.

It seems like most people in this country are recovering quickly, so hopefully it stays that way.

You explained it perfectly, at first it doesnt seem that close to home and then all of the sudden, WHAM, it is in your town. I think everyone should be cautious in general of germs, etc. so I know your advice to Gabe can only help.
