South Padre Island Here We Come...

We are heading out tonight around midnight to vacation in South Padre Island, TX! It takes about 12 hours to get there and we really don't want to waste a whole day just driving. Plus, we are going to miss a lot of traffic driving in the middle of the night/early morning. I can't wait to get there and feel the sand in my toes and here the waves of the ocean. I'll be sure to post lots of pics when we get back. Everyone have a wonderful 4th of July!!!

R.I.P Michael Jackson...

What a sad, sad day. When I was little I loved Michael Jackson. I loved him so much I used to beg my mom to marry him! I was disappointed when she decided to marry my now step-dad instead (I really thought she had a chance). I was hoping TMZ was mistaken when they were the only ones saying he had passed. No matter how weird he got, he was still Michael Jackson, the King of Pop. He is and always will be a legend. My heart goes out to his family, especially his 3 children. I hope they go on to live a happy, normal life. I sure wish I could have seen him in concert. He was such a phenomenal performer. R.I.P Michael!

New Alice in Wonderland Movie...

Check out these pictures from the new movie coming out next year. I can't wait to to see this!! Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen. Anne Hathaway as the White Queen. The costumes and makeup are ridiculous (in a good way)!

Entrepreneurs...

I've always wanted to own my own business. It used to be a little shop on the beach, but I don't see that happening any time soon since there is not a beach anywhere around here. So, now it's a snow cone stand and a cupcake shop. Gabriel is even into it! We talk about it all the time. Our favorite thing to do during the summer is get a snow cone. It makes me super happy. So do cupcakes. Who doesn't love a delicious cupcake? I hope it doesn't matter that I've never made a cupcake in my life. LOL! We saw this super cool cupcake decorating book at Target this weekend. I should have bought it. Maybe I'll go back and pick it up so I can get some practice in. It may be best for us to start with the snow cone stand and then work our way up to a cupcake shop. Wouldn't it be so super fun to run a snow cone stand? Gabriel is on the same page as me as really wanting to do it. I better get to looking for a little shed thingy and cost, etc. It would be nice to have it up and running next summer. We have this box of goodies in our cabinet in the kitchen called the Yum Box. I think that's what I want to name the snow cone stand. What do you think?

Neighborhood Park...

Our neighborhood park is pretty awesome. Just last year they installed a splash pad. The playground equipment is also pretty new. Gabriel loves that it has a rock climbing wall (pictures soon; can't get them to download for some reason). Roxy loves to go to the park with us too. I swear she is like a little tiny human. She has so much personality and is so smart.
Here we are going down the slide.

Turner Falls...

A few weekends ago we went to Turner Falls. This is a really fun and beautiful place. There are lots of places to hike, camp, swim, and there is one huge waterfall which is really cool. We even came across an old castle that someone used to actually live in. Of course, it's not complete anymore, but it's still amazing. It's all old stone and you have to walk up a million steps to get to it. We did have a bit of a scare though. Gabriel decided to start going down the stairs very quickly and tripped. Both Alberto and I saw it coming and was yelling at him to slow down. I just knew he was dead. We saw him go tumbling down the stairs. I was really scared. My legs were shaking so bad I could hardly walk. Alberto made it to him first. Luckily he went sideways and tumbled most of the way down on a hill and not the steps. He was pretty bloody and cut up though. He looked like a bear had attacked him. He had scratches and cuts everywhere. I am so thankful he didn't bust his head open or break anything. I immediately got him down to the stream to try and clean him up. He was a bit shaken. It's so unlike him to be the daredevil. He is normally my rule follower and is very apprehensive about things. I guess boys will be boys. We had his friend Joey with us and it was so cute how Joey kept saying "Dude, are you okay?" When we had to pass the steps to go back to the car later that day, Gabriel wouldn't even look at them. LOL! We really had a fantastic trip and look forward to going back and camping out or renting one of the cabins.

Weightloss Update...

I am down a total of 16.8lbs! Go me!
